Lela Frances Burnett, 100, of Maryville, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004 at Asbury Place. She was a member of Logan's United Methodist Church. She was a principal and teacher at the school in Cades Cove before it became a part of the National Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Burnett Sr.; parents, John and Lila Clabough; brother, Rex Clabough; sisters, Beulah Gray and Ina Teffeteller. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Willie Burnett of Maryville, Burl Jr. (Sonny) and Maxine Burnett of Maryville; grandchildren, Gary Burnett of Columbus, Oh, Rodney Burnett of Scottsdale, AZ, Timothy Burnett of Maryville, Shaun Burnett of Woodsfield, OH, Shirley Stinnett and husband, Steve Stinnett of Maryville and Mary Jane Burnett of Etowah; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, John Jr. and Virginia Clabough of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Navada and Mayford Clark of Maryville; sister-in-law, Ruth Clabough of Maryville; special friend, Hattie Norton of Maryville; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Logan's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. Ann Robbins and Rev. Ronnie Longmire officiating. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Burnett to Logan's Chapel United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 4626 Logan's Chapel Loop, Maryville, TN 37804.
