"Mrs. Mary C. Burns Law - Our hearts are draped in mourning on account of the grim monster death having made its appearance and claimed our dear sister as its victim, Mary Catherine Burns Law, who was born August the 18, 1884, and died Jan. 1st, 1923, being 38 years, 4 months and 13 days old. She was sick only a few days, flu, that dreaded and rapid disease was the cause of her death. She professed faith in Jesus Christ, while quite young and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and lived a true consecrated christian woman until hear death. She was married to Mr. Sam Law, August 10, 1902. They lived faithfully and happily together until God called her home. To them two lovely children were born, one daughter, Bessie, age 19, one son, Boyd, age 15, and they with their father, her father, brothers and sisters are left to mourn her death, and fight the battle of life. She was a quiet, loving sister, a gentle woman, a good christian, a true wife and loving mother. She has gone to meet her mother, her sister, her little brother and her many loved ones who have gone on before. She will be missed greatly by all. "Rev. Carnes and Rev. Elzey held appropriate funeral services at her home and at the cemetery and she was laid to rest in the family burying ground nearby to await the great resurrection morning. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." "Our sister shall rise again some sweet day. - Her Sisters."
