Elizabeth "Libby" TAYLOR, of Alcoa, died Friday at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa. Survivors include: husband, Willard Taylor; daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Joseph R. Clark; granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Clark; several nieces and nephews. The funeral services were Sunday at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl White officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 a.m. today at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. The family received friends Sunday at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home. Martha Law TAYLOR, was born May 15, 1876. She peacefully departed this life February 3, 1942, making her earthly pilgrimage 65 years, 8 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to James M. Taylor, January 15, 1893. To this union were born 11 children. Two died in infancy, Arthur Steavens and Allie May. Nine are still living; five boys and four girls as follows: Eld. George S. Taylor of Maryville, Route 5; John of Alcoa; Andrew, Sam, and Willard, Mrs. Lizzie Hubbard, Mrs. Grace McDonald and Mrs. Evelyn Lowe of Maryville, Route 5; Mrs. Winefred Myers of Maryville, Route 6; Twenty-eight grandchildren living and two dead. Three great-grandchildren living and one dead. She is also survived by her husband and a large circle of other friends and relatives. She professed faith in Christ in early girlhood and joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Laws Chapel, were she remained a most faithful, true, loyal and devoted member until death; and like a soldier died at her post of duty in the service of the Lord. More than 30 years ago she and her husband were ordained Deacon and Deaconess, which duties she faithfully performed with joy and gladness. Thus fulfilling the command of the Scriptures, James 1 and 27, " Pure religion and undefiled before God and the father is this. To visit the fatherless and the widows in their afflictions and to keep himself unspotted from the world." In this way she became favorably known, loved and respected by a large circle of acquaintances throughout the county. As a church member she was faithful and true to the very last. She was always found in the congregations of the righteous, never shirking duty, but shouldering up the cross, putting on the whole armor of God, setting a good and wholesome example for the younger women and mothers to follow. As a mother, she was self-sacrificing, of untiring faith and true to the children of her trust. As a companion, she was loyal, kind, loving and devoted to her husband. Their pilgrimage of 49 years here together ha been one of loyalty, love and true companionship and devotions to each other. She has met and faithfully performed all the duties and responsibilities of a Christian wife and mother with Christain courage and fortitude without a murmur or complaint. Her life's work is done. Her history has been completed; the books have been closed. God has said, "well done, thou good and faithful servant, come up higher. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Sorrowing loved ones lift up your weeping eyes and look by an eye of faith to where the sweet spirit has gone, and say, "Lord thy will, not mine be done." By the grace of God we'll meet her in the sweet by and by. The body was laid to rest in the Laws Chapel cemetery beneath a beautiful blanket of flowers. Funeral services were conducted by Elders John W. Oliver, B. D. White and Tom Davis. Blanche Roulette TEFFETELLER, 88, of Maryville, TN, died June 29, 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Texanna Roulette; husband, Jack Teffeteller; son, Jerry Wayne Teffeteller; daughter, Stella Gibson; granddaughter, Kathy Burchfield Long; sister, Maggie Payne; and brothers, Wyatt, Howard, LeRoy, and Ollie. Survivors include children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother; sisters; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held July 1, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. Interment was on July 2, 2004 at Peck's Memorial Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home of Maryville, TN was in charge of the arrangements. Rev. Ed TEFFETELLER, 80, retired Baptist minister, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday at his home, Rt. 7, Maryville. The body will be removed from Miller Funeral Home to the home this aftrnoon and taken to the church one hour before services. Funeral 3 p.m. Wednesday, at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. American Legion Post 13 will be in charge of graveside services. Burial in the church cemetery. Elmer TEFFETELLER, 96 of Maryville passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Third Street Baptist Church. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum and was a member of their 25-Year Club. Preceded in death by: wife, Thelma Teffeteller; sons-in-law, Tom Potter and Rufus Law; daughters, Jackie Holder and Elizabeth Ann Teffeteller; great-Grandson, Richard Law. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, J.D. & Ilona Teffeteller of Greenback; daughter and son-in-law, Imogene & Kenneth Tuck of Friendsville; daughter, Maxine Law of Maryville; son-in-law, H.F. Holder; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Dr. Mark Grubb officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Laws Chapel Church Cemetery. Elsie Amilea "Polly" Pollard TEFFETELLER, 78, passed away April 1, 2007 at Asbury Place after a long but courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Polly, as she was known by friends, was born June 14, 1928 in Blount County, Tennessee to the late Mayme Gertrude Jones and Henry Richard Gibson Pollard. She was a member of Peck’s Memorial United Methodist Church and was devoted to her family and friends. She was a long-time employee of Crum Insurance Agency in Maryville. She loved to travel and had visited Australia, France, Italy, Mexico, Canada, Austria, and Germany along with all 50 of the States and cruised the Caribbean. She was well known for her unique sense of humor and loved practical jokes. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Henry R. Pollard, Jr., and James H. Pollard; and sisters, Odella Leolla Pollard and Mildred V. Pollard. She is survived by her spouse of 59 ½ years, Ralph Max Teffeteller, and daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Lynn (Cindy) and Rev. Gary Davidson of Maryville, TN and Janet Lea and Ken Housewright of Las Vegas, NV. Grandchildren; Blayne Davidson, and Patricia Wood of Maryville, TN, Ashley Cushman of Las Vegas, NV, Taylor and Justin Housewright of Chattanooga, TN. Sisters, Nellie Patty (Mrs. Mayford) of Kennewick, WA, and Meralene Johnson (Mrs. Kenneth) and Jean Malone (Mrs. Ronnie) both of Maryville, TN. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jesse TEFFETELLER, 58, Rt. 7, Maryville, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday from injuries suffered when he was hit Thursday by a truck at ALCOA's West Plant. Graveside services were conducted by Maryville American Legion Post 13 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Teffeteller pulled his truck up to the West Plant gate and got out to open the gate when the brakes on the truck slipped, ALCOA officials said. He was pinned between the gate and the truck. He is survived by a brother, Roy of Maryville. Services were held 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Lamar G. TEFFETELLER, 78, Wilkinson Road, Maryville, died at 10:12 am Tuesday at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Peck's Memorial United Methodist Church. Teffeteller was well known in woodworking and crafts. He was a member of the Blount Arts & Crafts Guild, retired from ALCOA with 44 years service and a member of the 25 year club. Survivors: sons, Ralph M. Teffeteller of Maryville; Dr. Gordon L. Teffeteller of Valdosta, Georgia, and daughter Evelyn (Mrs. Richard) Hill of Kingsport: 8 grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Nell (Mrs.Joe) Copeland of Maryville; Roxie (Mrs. Fred) Latham of Virginia; Hester (Mrs. John) Sapp of Ohio. The family will receive friends from 7pm until the funeral at 8 pm Thursday in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Ray McDougle officiating. Interment will be at 10am Friday at Peck's Memorial Methodist Church. Malcolm Jack TEFFETELLER, 86, of Maryville, TN, passed away March 5, 2002. He was preceded in death by son, Jerry Wayne Teffeteller; daughter, Stella Mae Gibson; parents; 5 brothers, 1 sister. Survivors include his wife, Blanche Roulette Teffeteller; daughters and sons-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 8, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. Interment was on March 9, 2002 at Peck's Memorial Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home of Maryville, TN, was in charge of the arrangements. Ralph Max TEFFETELLER, 82, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on May 28, 2009. He had been in declining health for several years. He was born in the Chilhowee View Community on November 14, 1926 to Lamar Gamble and Ethel Evelyn Burchfield Teffeteller. His loving parents set an excellent example for Ralph. He grew up in the home they built and joined Peck’s Chapel at a young age. He remained a member there his entire life. He graduated from Everett High School in the middle of World War II and joined the Navy as an Electrician. He served aboard the USS Alvin C. Cockrell DE-366 in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he started to work at ALCOA. That same year, he met the love of his life, Elsie Amilea Pollard, but he called her Polly. They were soon married and started their own family. Ralph worked graveyard shift for many years. He made himself available to stay with his daughters after school while Polly worked. He taught his daughters many things. He taught them to sew, to cook, to fish, to garden, and to love life and people. He was a good man and a credit to his upbringing. He helped many people throughout his life by the use of his skills as an electrician, cabinet maker, and shade-tree mechanic. He didn’t charge for most of his services; if people paid, that was OK and if they didn’t, well, that was OK too. After his daughters were grown, he would change shifts with men at ALCOA who had small children so those men could enjoy Christmas with their families. He retired from ALCOA after 40 years of dedicated service. He and Polly traveled all around the world together. They took their grandchildren on extended camping trips throughout the Western US and on shorter trips to the Gulf Coast beginning when each grandchild was two years old, and continuing until Polly’s health halted the excursions. Preceded in death by his beloved Polly; loving parents, Lamar & Ethel Teffeteller; infant brother, Arnold. Survivors include: Daughters, Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Davidson of Maryville and Janet Lea Housewright & husband Ken of Soddy Daisy, TN; Grandchildren, Blayne Davidson and Patricia Wood both of Maryville, Ashley H. Burns of Las Vegas, NV, Taylor & Justin Housewright of Graysville, TN; Great-Grandchildren, Connor and Duncan Davidson and Rebecca Wood all of Maryville; Sister & Brother-in-law, Evelyn & Richard Hill of Kingsport, TN; Brother & Sister-in-law, Gordon & Elaine Teffeteller of Valdosta, GA; many nieces and nephews and his life-long friend James Roberts. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Peck’s Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. The body will lie in state for 1 hour prior to the service. Wanda June "Bud" Braden TEFFETELLER, 72, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Birchfield; parents, Abe and Pauline Teffeteller Braden; infant sister, Dorothy; sister, Ruth Adams. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ray G. Teffeteller; children, Ron and Debbie Teffeteller and Marion and Charlene Teffeteller; grandchildren, Lori and Kelly Teffeteller, Steve Birchfield and fiancé, Amy Berrier; Charlie Teffeteller; great grandchild, Cole Birchfield; step grandchildren, Andrea, Bear-Man and Alex Plemons; nieces, Sandra, Barbara and Cathy; nephews, Sam, Jim and Mike; special cousin, Mary Sue Seaton. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Sherrer and Rev. Daryl Millsaps officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Cemetery for the interment service. TIPTON, 41, Rt. 13, Maryville, died of cancer at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at Fort Sanders Hospital, Knoxville. He was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church and was a self-employed carpenter. Survivors: wife, Jackie C. Tipton; son, Randy of Maryville; parents, Wiley and Pauline Tipton of Maryville; brothers, Dale and Bob of Maryville; sister, Mrs. Ronnie (Brenda) Leigh of Maryville. Wilma was born on June 12, 1938, the daughter of the late J. M. Fife and Aleene Fife Harris. Besides her father and mother she was preceded in death by her step-father, Glenn Harris; sister, Barbara Breeden. Survivors include her husband; daughter and son-in-law; son and daughter-in-law; grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law; brother and sister-in-law; aunt and husband; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held April 2, 2002 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. Interment was at Piney Level Baptist Church Cemetery on April 3, 2002.
